The Rain

May 29th, 2020

There’s something about rain that, when it comes, changes my mood, transports my soul.
It hurries me–if caught out and unprepared . . .
or slows me down–if inside with a book or a love.
Nights are more glistening;
days are toned to lovely grays.
And the sound keeps me company,
muffling out other things.

    Wow, wow, WOW! Love these! Hyatt, are you sure you’re not a closet Seattle native??? We here in Everett MUST love our rain… otherwise NO Emerald State. Thanks for sharing these marvelous images.

      Thanks, Where I live rain is more rare (though it can overwhelm at times). We lived in Langley, British Columbia, for four years, two hours north of Seattle. There it was something of an almost non-stop drizzle fall to spring. But beautiful.

    Wow again. I so totally agree. Living in Ft Lauderdale, we have a rainy season that this year is outdoing itself. I’m loving every moment of every rainy day, especially during this shelter-inside season. Thank you for putting a few words to the normalcy of this feeling …

    In my native Southern CA, our dear rain brightens the shine on my so often dusty car. My grandfather once had a piece published in his native hometown newspaper in Atwood, NW Kansas. He mentioned how that there is so little rain in So Cal. that the presence of desert is always trying to make an advance toward the territory of the Pacific Ocean. What a beautiful combination, with the sometimes snowy mountains so close, to both the desert, and the beaches, on which the hot Summer sand is often over run by sun worshipers.
    So bro. Hyatt, your interpretation of rainscapes remind me of yet other wonderful personal things, as good art often does.
    Delighted,
    Larry
