My calendar says it’s “Easter Monday.” That’s a new one for me, but why not extend the most significant holiday there is? I didn’t make this new painting with that specifically in mind, but it fits.
A pastor friend suggested I paint Jesus after his resurrection. “How would I do that?” I asked. He said, “Maybe in the garden.” So I did, the moment Mary encountered him. Never expecting, she thought he was the gardener . . . until he said her name. That’s the moment I painted.
I call it, “Not the Gardener.”
The original may be spoken for, but it’s available in print.

You captured it! That moment will continue to live on forever. It makes me look forward to when I see Him face to face, and He says my name. Thank you for sharing it with us, Hyatt!

Two things, Hyatt… first, where is Amelia Island, FL? I may get to go to Florida soon and if possible I’d go see the original “African Dancer” painting/fabric collage. Secondly, are you going to have any showings soon? Now that Covid is fading, I look forward to seeing you (and Anne) out and about!
