We were at a conference lately and, along with other art, I displayed a 60” canvas print of my “Last Supper,” when two other guests, one from Germany and one from Russia, came up to me exclaiming wildly. They knew the painting well and were overjoyed and over-surprised to be “actually meeting the painter!”

Turns out they’ve been using the image for some time in their endeavors in Eastern Europe and Asia. I asked them if we knew each other, if I had extended permission for such use, but they just laughed. Nothing like that. They’d just seen it and knew it was right for them.
I had to laugh too.
As the weekend progressed they kept coming back to me with further details of how famous the painting is in their circles. They gave me a list the the counties they use it in:
Belarus
Ukraine
Moldova
Romania
Bulgaria
Turkey
Russia
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Uzbekistan
Turkmenistan
Tajikistan
Afghanistan
Pakistan
Mongolia
Israel
In the end, I decided they also needed the giclee print I had with me and made it a gift to them. Again, they were overjoyed.
Everybody happy.
PS I suppose they found it where you can find it, too, on my website, here.
PPS I just shared all this on my Facebook page and received all manner of positive feedback. Very grateful.

Not at all surprised!!! I can’t remember how many times I have seen it (usually at church missions conferences)….and just for fun, I love to say,”I personally know the artist….Would you like to touch me?”. I’ve also ordered your bookmarks with this art on them…..It is nothing short of a blessing to everyone!!…..I would say you’re anointed as His artist, and this is THE BEST!

when I first saw this picture on a book mark that a friend from New Zealand gave to me, the art just really “jumped” out at me, in a sense I could identify with “tribes” and our work is with many indigenous people in the nations. I loved it and didn’t realize I could actually order it online. I searched for this art work and found your website. I just recently ordered a few prints for a “honoring” night we had for close friends that have been to many nations proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and have seen many lives being impacted. I have always wondered if there is such painting of Jesus and tribal (tribes) men somewhere. I found it!!
Thank you for your art. It is a powerful piece of art. So much meaning that comes with it…

That photo is familiar – was it originally painted in Langley BC on 234 St.?
We still live next door, but sold your house to a wonderful family a few years after you returned to Big Sur, and we also sold that empty 1 acre lot at the end of the road. Our place on 50th is still our retirement home between trips to Europe with our grand daughters.
I still have Anne’s Four Oars in my den.
