A word about Hyatt Moore

The commonalities of a good teacher and a great leader are a strong sense of personal integrity that infuses their person, work and ministry.

Hyatt and I worked together as colleagues during what I considered a golden moment in time in the history of Wycliffe Bible Translators. As CEO of Wycliffe USA it was a time under Hyatt’s leadership of heightened intellectual, and artistic discovery.

For more than a decade I had the opportunity to observe at close range how Hyatt Moore brought these qualities to the table, plus a fresh creative vision that set a heightened motivational climate of good humor, patience and kindness among his colleagues.

It was during this period I did some of my best work as an author and photographer.  The uniqueness of Hyatt’s leadership is his ability to create an atmosphere of affability that enables people to maximize their potential at their own pace while retaining their own identity. One of the inspiring things working with Hyatt was his probing questions. He wants each person to grow. He not only had great ideas; he knew how to implement them and to involve all in a unified team.

In recent years, Hyatt, who believes profoundly that when you allow God to manage your life you often find yourself stretched beyond what you thought possible, is developing latent talents as a fine artist.  He now adds that to his already well-developed abilities as a writer and a public speaker.

Just as he did in his leadership role in Wycliffe, Hyatt is ever probing, ever sharing his insights and encouraging people to develop their own God-given talent. I commend Hyatt Moore as a gifted communicator and motivator in whatever subject he’s given, or puts his mind to explore.
