Cheyenne Girl Lavenders

48" x 24" 120cm x 60cm

The resource came from a pair of historical black and white photos. The one had her in traditional clothing, the second in a formal white wedding dress of the late eighteen-hundreds. Not only did she look completely out of place in that foreign garb, her whole demeanor was altered, her gaze downcast, her face fallen. In her own tribal dress she was self-confident, natural, slightly proud, and of course, wonderfully beautiful.I took liberties with the colors.
